Who we are
Bodha Yatra runs small, scholar-led pilgrimages to Muktinath through the Kali Gandaki corridor of Nepal. The work rests on the scholarship of Dr. Kul Raj Chalise, whose research on the sacred geography, theology, and cultural history of the kshetra spans nearly three decades, and on his family, Nepali Hindus of the Muktinath region.
Registration
Bodha Retreat LLC, doing business as Bodha Yatra, is registered with the State of Florida as a Seller of Travel. Registration No. ST46609. Licensed under Chapter 559, Florida Statutes.
Our history
The company was founded as Chalise Tourism in Nepal in 2016 and has spent ten years guiding journeys through the country. Today it is registered in Miami, Florida, serving pilgrims across North America and beyond, while the journeys themselves remain run on home ground in Nepal.
In 2023, when Nepal sent sacred shilas from the Kali Gandaki to Ayodhya, Dr. Chalise served as cultural advisor to the Government of Nepal for the yatra and was among the scholars who authenticated them.
The wider work
The pilgrimage is one part of a larger effort to return Mukti Kshetra to the living memory of the Hindu world, through writing, film, and journeys. The scholarship and films live at bodhayatra.com.
