Shraddha at the Kagbeni sangam on Sarva Pitru Amavasya
10 October 2026 · Nine days
Where the prayer for their liberation is spoken before the Lord of Liberation himself.
Liberation is His name and His gift. Only here do you ask for their mukti from Mukti Nath himself.
The one river on earth where Narayan dwells as the Shaligram. Every pinda here is placed directly into His hands.
The sacred confluence where the Himalaya has offered shraddha for thousands of years.
The Lord of Mukti at the door. Narayan himself in the river.
Thousands of years of shraddha at the sangam.
For their mukti, there is nothing higher you can do.
Every day, every stay, every ritual, the full price. Yours in one PDF.

Florida Seller of Travel ST46609. 110+ pilgrimages, 1,100+ pilgrims since 2016.
Three decades of Muktinath and Shaligram research, at your side every evening.
We are from Mukti Kshetra. One team, from your first call to the riverbank.
The ritual takes one morning.
Arriving ready for it takes nine days.
The vrata begins.
You are received in Kathmandu, and the Sankalp Patra with your loved one's name and gotra is placed in your hands. At Pashupatinath, their name is spoken and the purpose of the yatra declared. Your first tarpan, taught hand over hand.
The setting forth, and the understanding.
The road west to Pokhara in the group's private vans, paced for elders. Then a full, unhurried day: the daily tarpan practiced until steady, and Dr. Chalise's katha on what shraddha is and what the pitrs receive. Nothing on Amavasya is performed blindly.
The entering, and a lamp lit for every name.
Up the valley of the Kali Gandaki through the deepest gorge on earth, darshan at Galeshwor on the way. Then a day of purification: the Shaligram riverbed, mundan and snan, vastra prepared, and the Smaran evening, one lamp for each name. The karta's fast begins.
The offering, on the one day that reaches every ancestor.
White vastra at first light, the silent walk to the confluence. Each family at its own vedi, Kagbeni's resident purohits performing the full vidhi in the Kutup muhurta. The pinda passes from your hands into the Kali Gandaki; brahmin bhojan and daan completed on your behalf.
Their name at the door of liberation.
Before sunrise, the ascent to Mukti Kshetra as the Himalaya turns gold: their name spoken inside the temple, tarpan at the 108 dharas, darshan of the flame of Jwala Mai. Home via Kathmandu with your completed Sankalp Patra, marked at the sangam, for the family mandir.
The shastra asks that the one who offers shraddha come to it pure, calm, and unhurried. So every day keeps the same quiet rhythm, and by Amavasya your hands know the ritual and your heart is free to feel it.
Name, gotra and every question of vidhi, settled before you fly.
Samagri, vastra, vedi, purohits, bhojan and daan. Nothing to procure.
Gradual ascent, oxygen carried, doli and horse support at Muktinath.
Two sattvic meals daily, a dedicated cook all nine days.
Dr. Kul Raj Chalise with you, all nine days.
A full reserve day before the Amavasya protects the rite.
Timed so the shraddha falls on Sarva Pitru Amavasya. Each family keeps its own vedi, its own purohit time, its own privacy within the circle.
The same arc, held for one family alone, timed to your own ancestor's tithi if you wish.
One clear price covers everything within Nepal: every stay on twin sharing, two sattvic meals daily, all private chartered vehicles, permits, the full ritual provision, the purohits, bhojan and daan, and doli support for elders at Muktinath. International flights, visa, insurance and taxes are separate. The complete day-by-day itinerary and price are in the download below.
Our family is from this kshetra, and for ten years we have guided pilgrims through it. Again and again, families asked us the same quiet question: can we do shraddha there, properly? This yatra is our answer. It is built the way we would do it for our own parents.
The Chalise family · MuktinathIn 2023, when Nepal sent sacred shilas from the Kali Gandaki to Ayodhya, the Government of Nepal appointed Dr. Kul Raj Chalise cultural advisor to the yatra. The scholarship your family travels with is the scholarship a nation trusted.

Plan for 12 to 13 days door to door: one to two travel days each way around the nine days in Nepal. Depart the US around 2 October, land home around 13 October.
Kagbeni sits near 2,800 metres and Muktinath at 3,710 metres. The ascent is gradual by design, with rest built into every altitude change, warm rooms, vehicle access throughout, oxygen carried with the group, and doli and horse support for elders on the final approach at Muktinath.
The whole journey is by private chartered vehicle, so there are no flight cancellations to fear, and a full reserve day sits before the Amavasya. The one morning that matters is protected.
This is a pilgrimage by vehicle with short walks, not a trek. The Muktinath morning involves steps at altitude, taken slowly. Elders complete this yatra with dignity; tell us about any health conditions and we will advise honestly.
From $2,000 per pilgrim on shared basis, covering everything within Nepal: every stay on twin sharing, two sattvic meals daily, all private vehicles, permits, the full ritual provision, purohits, bhojan and daan. International flights, visa, insurance and taxes are separate. Private dates: couple $3,500, family of three to five from $3,000 per pilgrim.
The karta your family designates. Traditions and families differ, and the purohits respect that; whoever your family chooses, every question of vidhi is settled on the Smaran Call before departure.
The full amount is paid at booking; your family's vedi and purohit time are confirmed the same day. Cancel within one month of booking for a full refund, no questions asked. After one month, payments become non-refundable, as vedi, purohit, rooms and vehicles are committed for your family.
Two sattvic meals each day, late morning and early evening, without onion or garlic: the eating discipline of Pitru Paksha, with safe water and herbal tea through the day. Most nationalities, including US citizens, receive a Nepal visa on arrival, roughly $30 to $50; Indian citizens need none.
The fastest way to plan your yatra is to talk to us. Call or message on WhatsApp, and one of our own family will answer, not an agent.
